Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player won his initial title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in specific - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after spring of 2023.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the last five games to go ahead.

The competitors swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour championship, took control to push for a final set.

Moutet rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
