A Paris court has ruled against ten people for carrying out the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the partner of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The accused individuals faced allegations of disseminating fabrications regarding her sex and sexual orientation, in addition to posting malicious remarks about the pair's age disparity of 24 years.
The court delivered conditional custodial sentences of as much as eight months to the defendants. The complete verdict has yet to be released.
A longstanding false narrative alleging that Brigitte Macron is a trans woman has been in circulation since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.
This latest legal outcome in France comes as the Macrons initiating a libel case in the US against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's identity.
Their lawsuit contends that Owens ignored any factual proof contradicting her allegations opting to platforming known conspiracy theorists.
Owens has often echoed these allegations on her digital program and social networks, and in March 2024 declared that she would risk all her credibility on her insistence that Mrs. Macron is in fact a man.
